Its January 11th, 2019, my 18 year old sister and I are planning to go on a vacation. I am 25, have a full time job, and have wanted to go on a vacation for a while. My sister just started working and doesn't have much money saved up. We were thinking about going to the Bahamas or Jamaica. We have to do some research to figure out how much each trip will cost and how much a plane ticket is both ways.
“I think I have enough money for a plane ticket,” says Jill.
“Me too. I think I have just enough money for everything. The only thing I am saving for now is spending money.”
We get more into the topic of spending and how much more money we need to save.
Jill says, “One more month and I think I will be all set.”
A couple weeks go by and Jill is excited. She keeps talking about how much more she has saved and how much more she needs to save. I, on the other hand, am just waiting for her. I have enough saved for the plane ticket, food, the hotel, spending money, and excursions.
“How much longer Jill?” I asked.
“A couple more weeks,” she says.
I am ready to go now and don’t want to wait any longer. But I have to. We start to book everything knowing that Jill is going to have enough money. I book the plane ticket and it is $550 round trip and the hotel is $300 per night.Jill and I are staying there for seven days, so for both of us it will cost $1600 plus however much we want to bring for excursions, food and souvenirs. As the days go by I make sure that Jill has enough money to go.
It is now two days before we have to leave. Jill and I were packing and were so excited to go.
“Are you all packed, Jill?”
“Yes,” says Jill. “I just need to pack my makeup and everything else in the morning.”
That night Jill and I can’t sleep at all. We are too excited. We wake up at 5 in the morning, pack the rest of our stuff and head out. We have to drive from Maine to Manchester, NH and catch our plane from there.
“Are you excited?” I say to Jill.
“Yes, are you,” she answers.
“I am excited,” I answer “but this is the first time you and I have been away from mom and dad for This long. What if something happens?”
“What could happen?” asks Jill. “We are going on vacation to a nice island. We have nothing to worry about.”
“We have no way to contact them if something happens. You need to remember that Aruba isn’t in the U.S.
“I know that, but what are we supposed to do?”
“They have to have some type of police there and they can get in contact with them.”
After having that conversation we start thinking about things that can happen and it makes us more nervous. A two hour car ride turns into what seems to be five. They soon arrive to Manchester airport and gather all their luggage. They go to get there plane tickets and then through security.
“What is taking them so long?” asks Jill.
“Security usually takes a long time, but I don’t know why it’s taking this long!”
We eventually get through security and to our gate. We have to wait one more hour until our plane arrives. We go to get food and wait for our plane. Eventually it arrives and everyone gets on the plane.
“How long is the flight?” asks Jill.
“The flight is 13 hours, but we have no layovers.”
We eventually got there and we had to go get our luggage and that took a long time. We were both starving so we got food. After eating we got a taxi and went to our hotel and put all of our luggage down and went to go walk around the island. It was already later at night so we weren’t going to go do any excursions. We walked around for a couple of hours and went back to the hotel.
“I’m tired” said Jill.
“Me too, I’m thinking about going to bed and waking up early tomorrow morning to go out and do things.”
A couple minutes later they were both sound asleep.
The next morning they were both up around 8 and went to get breakfast.
“What do you want to do today?” I asked.
“I kind of want to go on a boat ride.”
After breakfast we both went to get ready for the day. Walking out of the hotel it was really hot and humid.
“We need to find a taxi that will bring us to the boat.”
“You go down there and I’ll stay up here.” Said Jill
Eventually Jill got a taxi and he was able to bring us to a place that did boat rides. We didn’t know what to expect.
“I’m kinda scared.” Said Jill.
“Why?” I asked.
“Because I don’t know what to expect and what of the people are rude.”
“I think we will be okay.”
We eventually got on to the boat. We were only with this other couple but they were really nice. We started having conversations with them and we found out that they live the town next to ours and have one kid at home.
After a couple days of being there we found out that the couple was staying in the same hotel as us. Also, they told us something very creepy. They told us that they had 2 daughter about our age. We also find out that they’re older daughter got kidnapped and never returned and they’re younger daughter went out looking for her sister and she also never returned. Things between us and that couple kept getting creepier and creepier. We kept making connections with them and some people said that we looked alike.
“Do you think it’s weird how we keep making connections with them?” Asked Jill.
“I think that we should stay away from them for the rest of the time.”
We were on our way back home and we were worrying the whole time about that couple. What if we actually had a connection with them? What if there was something about out family that we didn’t know about?
As soon as we get home we told out parents about the couple that we met and how it was weird that we kept making connections with them. Our parents started asking us questions about the couple and who they were and where they were from. We soon realized it was weird how our parents were acting and starting questioning them.
That night everything started going weird and our parents were acting psycho. Mom was running around like she was possessed and dad was just acting weird. We have never seen them act like this before.
“What do you think we should do?” Asked Jill
“I am going to call the police, but I want you to stay here.”
As soon as the police arrived everyone was getting questioned. Me and Jill didn’t know what was happening. Then the couple from the cruise showed up and the police tell us that we have been kidnapped and the people we have been living with our whole life isn’t actually our family. Me and Jill soon realized that the couple that we met on the cruise are actually our parents and the stories that they were telling us was actually about us.
